O artigo apresenta uma tradução do poema matemático de autoria atribuída a Arquimedes, o Problema Bovino. A tradução foi feita a partir da edição de Charles Mugler, de 1971. Acompanha a tradução uma introdução ao problema e comentários sobre resoluções do problema, apresentadas com simbologia e recursos da matemática contemporânea, com explicações sobre os objetos e procedimentos de cálculo necessários.
